Good to know
How do I get into the building?
The main entrance is on the apartment — a black door marked with the number 30. Once inside, take four flights of stairs to the second floor — the second door you'll see, labelled "6", is your flat. There's also a small lift if you only have light luggage.
Should I use the lift?
The lift only fits one person at a time. It can stop functioning if luggage moves excessively or weight leans against the doors — please don't leave luggage unattended inside. Most guests use the stairs.
How does the intercom work?
The main building intercom is on the right as you enter the building's front door. Your flat intercom is mounted on the wall next to your front door inside the flat — pick up the handset to speak, then press the button on the top right to open the building's main door for your visitor.
Where will my deliveries and post go?
Letters come through the pigeon-box holes in the hallway. Larger parcels are left at your flat door or in the communal hallway — depends on the driver.
What if the Wi-Fi goes down?
Try restarting the router underneath the TV — unplug for 30 seconds, plug back in, wait 2 minutes. If it still doesn't work, WhatsApp Abodess.
Where can I leave my luggage on checkout day?
Paddington station (8 min walk) has Excess Baggage and Stasher partners around £6 per bag — book through their app.
Can I have visitors over?
Daytime visitors are fine. Overnight guests count toward your booking — please WhatsApp Abodess first. Building has other residents; no parties or large gatherings.
A radiator isn't getting warm — what do I do?
Each radiator has a valve at the bottom (0 to 9, 9 = max). Turn it up fully. If a radiator stays cold after 20 minutes, WhatsApp Abodess.
Can I park outside?
Westminster pay-and-display zones operate Mon–Fri 8:30 AM – 6:30 PM, Sat 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM. Use the RingGo app to pay. Free outside those hours. Nearest car park: Q-Park Westminster Hilton.
What if I lock myself out?
Your lockbox code is in your portal under 'Lockbox code'. The lockbox is chained to the railings opposite the building. If the code isn't working, WhatsApp Abodess immediately.
Is there a lift?
Yes — but it's small (one person only) and can stop if loaded incorrectly. Four flights of stairs are the main route up to Flat 6 on the second floor.
Do you allow pets?
Pets aren't allowed by default, but exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis. WhatsApp Abodess at least 7 days before arrival with breed and size.
